Classification Survey covers:
– consideration and approval of technical documentation in compliance with the requirements of IQI Rules and regulations, »survey of the construction, modification and repair of the above mentioned objects, »surveys and inspections of vessels in service to confirm their compliance with the requirements Of IQI Rules and regulations, »class assignment, issuance and confirmation of Certificates of Class as well as making entries in the Register.
Statutory Survey performed by IQI covers:
– documentation approval in respect of the construction, installations and compartments on board the ship and surveys for compliance with the requirements of international conventions and codes and also EU directives and guidelines as well as the regulations of flag state administrations,
– certification of the marine environment protecting equipment against pollution from ships, certification of life-saving arrangements, radio equipment, signal means, navigation equipment, fire protection arrangements, catching arrangements of fishing boats and lifting appliances,
– survey of container construction and service as well as container approval,
– safety management certification for compliance with the ISM Code,
– certification of security systems for compliance with the ISPS Code,
– certification for compliance with the MLC Code,
– Ship tonnage measurement.
IQI also issues and approves
The documents which are:
»required for the carriage of grain, »required for the carriage of dangerous
and noxious goods, »concerning cargo stowage and securing, »concerning crew spaces. Conducts direct and indirect surveys. Indirect survey is performed by: »type approval of products or materials, »approval of manufacturing processes, »approval of manufacturing and repair plants, research stations, laboratories and measurement service suppliers, » verification of personnel involved in works related to the subject of IQI survey, e.g. welders, where such qualifications have effect on the safety of vessels. IQI may also undertake the survey of existing float-ing objects and those under construction, modification, reconstruction or repair which are not subject to the regulatory requirements. Upon the Owner’s request, IQI may conduct survey on the Owner’s behalf in the scope determined under the contract. Following the performed technical sur-vey, IQI issues the Certificate of Fitness for Sailing or another certificate as specified in the contract.
